So its been a pretty busy season…|Bradenton Lifestyle Photographer Jennifer Soos

Alot has been going on in the past month, I have been shooting and editing like a mad woman, we have a new family member and getting ready for the holidays at the same time. I never come to my blog and talk about my life so I figured with so many new things to talk about now would be the best time.

So pretty basically I am not prepared for Christmas, I have not one Christmas decoration out of the boxes, though all the boxes are out of the attic so I guess that is a head start. We did start a new Christmas tradition this year which I am to excited about!  Its called the elf on the shelf, basically it is a story of a scout elf that Santa sends for the holidays to see if the kiddos are naughty or nice, I cant tell you how many times I have already said to the boys..”the elf is watching, you dont want him to tell Santa what your doing” they of course say “nooooooo” and immediately apologize to the little elf who Jakey already named Alex, I was impressed this was the first time he actually gave something a person name. I cant tell you how many sparky, snowy, etc, animals we have around the house sowas a first and just reaffirms that my baby is growing up. The great thing about the elf on the shelf is that in the story the elf (our is Alex) flys to the North Pole every night to tell Santa if they are good or bad and when he returns he sits in a different place in order to observe the next day, the boys get up every morning and immediately go on an Alex hunt, its such a fun thing for them!IMG_2473

This is  Alex on the highest picture shelf in our living room, isnt he soooooo cute I just love him! Another really funny thing is in the book it tells you that the elf cannot talk to the kids its Santa rule, the elves are only there to observe, however the kids are encouraged to talk to the elf , tell him what they want for Christmas and whatever, So, it made my day when Jake looked straight at the elf and said “tell Santa I love the dog.” (Yes Jakey got a Puppy for Christmas, more on that in a bit”) Now while Jakey was being sweet Dylan was yelling at that elf “Dont tell Santa I did that!” And he meant it I heard him say it a few times today! I was dying laughing! He is such a stinker!

So if you cant tell, I love the Elf on the Shelf, you can get yours at Learning Express or Bennetts on Fruitville in Sarasota or Borders I think carries them too, but I assure you, the kiddos will love it!

So one to my other peice of  news WE GOT A PUPPY! Yes, Jakey wanted a German Shepard Puppy for Christmas, it had been at the top of his list for a while and Jake and I decided that he deserved it and I am so glad that we did, I think that animals enrich childrens lives so much! It gives them something to love unconditionally and Jacob is one of the biggest animal lovers I know, so say hello to Sarge!

He is such a sweet boy and I love him to death, but having a puppy is like having a newborn that doesnt wear diapers…kinda exhausting and its  on top of my already jammed packed schedule,  but he forces me to be outside more, play with the boys more and for that I am thankful, like Gods little reminder of the simple and sweetest things in life! Take time and enjoy the in betweens. With the holiday coming up and Dylan’s persisitant requests of me to come sit with him,( that his new thing, I pretty sure his love language is Quality time)

Could you tell this face No?  I can’t, plus he is really persistant! But, I have been going, going ,going, so to all my clients who have tried to get a hold of me, bare with me, Im trying to get back to each and everyone of you and, if I guaranteed pics to you before Christmas you will have them, and if not please understand that get them to you as soon as possible! This is my busiest season yet and I want to say Thank you to all who love this love of mine and I cant wait to see all of you again real soon! Happy Holidays!
